In 2022 I joined Mayday Trust which offers strengths-based person-led coaching to people going through tough times like being homeless, experiencing domestic violence or living with a long term condition, and works with like-minded organisations and forward-thinking local areas to replace our broken support systems, through the New System Alliance. I’m also a Human Learning Systems partner and NHS Assembly member. I’m a recent trustee of Alternative Futures Group.

I’ve met some amazing coaches here and heard about ways in which they are helping people to move on from crises, break out of entrenched challenging situations and challenge systemic oppression.

A new health and care system: escaping the invisible asylum is published by Policy Press and was launched at Nesta in London with Sir Simon Stevens (video), Chief Executive of NHS England, who said, “This is a profound and timely call for a different relationship between people and the services and institutions of the welfare state.
