Shared Lives helps people to live family and community life to the full. It is used by thousands of older and disabled people, but now Shared Lives has the opportunity to become a major part of the future of care and support. We need an experienced, inspiring communications and engagement officer to make this happen. We want to work more closely with Shared Lives carers and the older and disabled people they support to ensure that we have clear, positive messages about our members’ work which are heard by the sector, the media and the general public. We have members across the country, so we need to think creatively about how to engage them and how they can form a strong, unified network who can communicate more easily with each other. We also need to market ourselves to Shared Lives carers who aren’t yet members.

NAAPS is the UK network for family-based and small-scale ways of supporting adults including Shared Lives (formerly Adult Placement), Homeshare and micro enterprise. We help our members to work together to survive, thrive and influence decision makers, providing support, training, events, resources, research and campaigning.
